When it rains, it pours...the rainforest
I've always dreamed of living in the rainforest. In fact, I've patterened my entire garden around the intense colors and lush vegetation of the tropical climes. But, as of this week, I'm no longer enamored. Here along the Texas Gulf Coast, we have had humid, tropical thundershowers almost daily. And with this, my poor wooden house has lower boards that continue to rot. I've had no time to garden(which is just the opposite effect that I wanted) since you cannot really garden in mud. And of course, we don't stand outside much whilst it rains. I've also got a nice agave collection that does not understand what's going on! All the trails are muddy and the daily lightning just plain dangerous. Oh, and did I mention the mosquitoes? Yep, I'm through. Bring on the dry weather. Oops, I just remembered. Isn't Hurricane Dean headed our way? I'll finish since I hear thunder outside and it's not nice to have a power surge interrupt my blog. :-)
